ICEC, through Caspian Sulphur Company, has pioneered an integrated sulphur forming, logistics and sales program at the Tengizchevroil (TCO) oil field in Tengiz, Kazakhstan. TCO is located in a remote, land-locked area in Western Kazakhstan. Sulphur has, for many years, been stored on site due to the difficult and high cost logistical and transportation challenges.

In 2000, ICEC was selected as TCO’s exclusive sulphur marketer, as well as its sulphur handling and processing service provider.  ICEC was appointed to develop access to the China market on a rail direct basis.  In rising to this challenge, ICEC designed and built a fully integrated, multi-million dollar forming, bagging and logistics operation that now has TCO’s sulphur reaching a number of China’s largest and most important sulphur consuming regions.  ICEC has also been appointed to represent TCO in all deep-sea markets being served from its Black Sea export point.

The Caspian Sulphur Company’s operation was commissioned in 2001 and then further expanded in 2004.  The facility’s current capacity is to process and package up to 800,000 tonnes / year of sulphur for the China program.  This product is cost-effectively transported over 6,000 kilometers to the central China market region.

This integrated processing and sales system pioneered by ICEC has established TCO as one of the major, sustainable and dependable sulphur suppliers in the world.

ICEC understands what it takes, because at ICEC we speak your language.
