ICEC has embarked on a new component of its integrated sulphur service offering. In 2005 we purchased approximately 600,000 tonnes of sulphur contained in an existing sulphur storage block near Crossfield, in southern Alberta. ICEC has installed, mobilized and is operating a remelting facility at this site. This facility is designed to melt approximately 800 tonnes of sulphur daily with a target to complete the project within approximately 24 – 36 months.
ICEC has constructed a pit remelt system, which is efficient in terms of achieving high daily remelt volumes, while being very sensitive to environmental concerns. All remelted product will move to USA or international markets, enhancing ICEC’s long-term sales positions. ICEC will use its existing 1300 car rail fleet and its in-house rail car management division for sales of this remelt product into the American market.

After the ICEC remelt project is complete the Block Owners will then undertake a land reclamation project to restore the site.
