Karachi, the largest city and commercial centre of Pakistan has an estimated population of 13 million. Among the many products of Karachi are steel, textiles, chemicals, refined petroleum, footwear, machinery, handicrafts, and processed food. The city also is an important banking center and has a stock exchange. There is a variety of modern and sophisticated architecture in Karachi from beautiful mosques, mausoleums, churches and libraries among the colorful bazaars and narrow streets. It is best to visit in the cooler months between November and April.
